Time and time again, every major update, I see the steamcharts tick upward to 600-700 users, and literally a week or two later it falls back into its normal 100-200 users.
I can not in good faith recommend Fault for $10 "Just because it's the closest thing we have to Paragon" However as a Paragon faithful and someone who has seen what other dev studios did without indiegogo money and still blow Fault away, I have no faith in them until they do a legit overhaul of their base gamefeel/systems. I tip my hat to the Fault devs for sticking with it and definitely making Fault a better game than it was on launch. The very few places where "Fault has verticality" is lackluster, despite the fact that they pointed that out back in the day as one of the things that made Paragon stand out. Both have about the same amount of impact, feedback, and overall gamefeel. I dislike how it feels sluggish and none of the characters movement animations look like how they're actually moving (Their feet are running in place while they take 2 steps their feet look like they take 4-5 steps).įault is 'at its core' a very playable and good game for your average user, but as far as overall game feel it offers me nothing more that Smite has. I dislike some of their character changes (Morigesh, Belica specifically) I dislike their map, I dislike their side objectives. I dislike Faults gamefeel, I dislike their lack of impact. I've come back every major update and feel like the 'core elements' haven't changed much if at all, a fresh coat of paint, basic balance sweeps and improving certain systems that change the overall game feel. I gave their early access a fair shot, I took a break and genuinely thought after some updates they'd improve a lot of what I perceived wrong with the game. I backed their indiegogo, I played their alphas. But before all that Fault still fell behind both despite them not having money or any true backing. Yes now of course it's no arguement because Pred has a 2.5Mil+ deal and much more connections and Overprime was taken on by a big Koren Dev Studio. Stop defending Fault with this, just never use it again in an argument.īoth Overprime and Predecessor in the same timeframe, same amount of Devs (Technically overprime had less) both put out decent quality games that both played better and had more features than Fault did.ĭespite Fault having funding for their Early access and acquiring more people for their team for the early access, these two no-name, no-funded studios both went above and beyond what Fault did in the same time frame. "I don't know if you're expecting Paragon quality from a small studio"
